Rio vista

The location and swimming hole were awesome!!!! Super quiet, very peaceful! Bbq pits weren’t the cleanest and half way falling apart, or had no grates.Beds were as expected for a rental, had an outlet that was in the living room with a broken cover. Electric hazard for children. Dishes were put up but dirty, had to wash before we used them. Overall would come back just for location and swimming hole.

Enjoyed our stay

The house we stayed in was perfect for all 5 of us. There is just no water in the Frio River to float so loved that this place had a swimming pool. My granddaughters loved the tire swing. We played games in the evening and sat on the porch at night to look up at the stars. This is a great place to bring your family for a get away and enjoy relaxing

Nice, Quiet, Roomy, Fun.

I enjoy the peace and quiet. Secluded, but close enough to Garner State Park. Kids enjoyed playing soccer. Plenty of room inside. It was nice having the entire place to ourselves.

Experience Hill Country at its best

We loved loved the location. Waking up to the sight of mountains, tranquil river and birds chirping from the hundreds of trees - we had a wonderful stay at Lightining Bug Springs. We stayed in the Rio Vista cabin in the spring season and it was rustic, cute, comfortable and has superb views of hills & river. The kids loved to play on the deck, climb trees, eat meals, paint rocks, collect wildflowers and splash in the river below - it was an amazing experience for everyone. When we were driving to the cabin, we thought its too remote and were skeptical, but once we entered the property, we saw the beauty of this place. Also, its one of the rare places in Concan/Uvalde where the owners provide you with linens and towels and kitchenware. The owner Dena was very responsive and also accommodated our change of plans last minute. We had a leisurely trip which is exactly wat we needed to escape the busy city life. We spent a day at Garner State park (really lovely during spring with fresh water in the Frio river and colorful wildflowers bursting everywhere), went for Frio Bat Cave tour and saw millions of bat zooming out at dusk, drove through misty hills to Lost Maples natural park and explored small town Concan with country music and cute cafes. This was one of the best places we have stayed in, little expensive given the remote location but totally worth it! Hope to come back in the Fall season.
